Pet-license requirements and services are managed by each city. Choose your city below for current fees, requirements, and licensing information.

• Burien Pet Licenses can be purchased at CARES or Burien City Hall.

  The City of Burien requires pet owners to purchase a license for all dogs and cats. For more information please see. Burien Municipal Code Title 6 Animals.

• Des Moines Pet Licenses can be purchased online, by mail, or Des Moines Police Department.

  All dogs and cats over 6 months of age must be vaccinated for rabies, licensed, and wear the tag on their collar. See Municipal Code Title 8.04.

• Federal Way Pet Licenses can be purchased online, by mail, or Federal Way Police Department. For more information, please visit: City of Federal Way.

  All Cats/Dogs over 5 months old must be licensed in the City of Federal Way, licensing requires a current rabies vaccination. See City Ordinance Chapter 9.09.010(2).

CARES does not set licensing fees or requirements. Please contact your city directly with questions about its licensing policies.
