Pearl is a female doberman, about 5 years old and 64 pounds, who came to CARES as a stray (although we suspect she was abandoned). Now this sweet girl is available for adoption and eager to meet her new family!
Pearl is a total sweetheart who tends to be a little shy and timid at first. She bonds quickly with people once she gets comfortable, and seems to be happiest just being with her humans. She loves neck and ear scratches, and loves to show affection by nuzzling you with her head. She's done great with all our volunteers and staff, although she does seem to prefer males over females. She seems to have a little separation anxiety, so a home where she would not be left alone for long periods, or a home with the right canine sibling(s) to keep her company, would be best. She is very curious and friendly with other dogs, although she's hesitant around the louder and more in-your-face pups. She does great on-leash and loves her walks. She seems to be fully housebroken, and hasn't had a single accident in her kennel here.
Pearl is an awesome, affectionate girl who would probably do best in a calm, quiet home, without a lot of commotion. She needs a family that is patient and understanding, and who can give her plenty of daily exercise, attention, and affection. She seems like she's been through a lot in her life. She checked out fine at our vet, and her skin is healing well from a long-untreated flea infestation.
There's nothing bad we can think to say about this lovely lady, so stop into CARES or call about meeting Pearl today!
