Luna is a female rottweiler, about 7.5 years old and 96 pounds, who was re-surrendered to CARES after originally being adopted last November, because she did not get along with two other dogs that moved into the home. Now this big sweetheart is looking for her true forever family!
Luna likes to act tough in her kennel, but once she's out, she is just a goofy, roly poly lovebug! She does well with pretty much everybody, including kids, and loves giving kisses (especially in exchange for belly rubs and head scratches!). She is housebroken, does great on-leash, and loves her walks. She is hit-and-miss with other dogs, and may do well with the right canine buddy, but would likely be happiest being an only dog (she does not do well with kitties, unfortunately). She loves playing with toys, and especially loves tug-of-war, and in general just loves being with people more than anything, whether on hikes and runs, rough-housing, or just hanging out around the house.
Luna's previous family described her as: "A very sweet dog, lots of energy, good with people and kids. Great guard dog." She checked out fine at our vet, with the exception of being overweight, and we have had her on a mild diet to try and start gradually shedding a few pounds. She will need a family that can give her plenty of daily exercise, attention, and affection. She would not do well in an apartment.
There is pretty much nothing bad to say about this big gorgeous girl--she will make an AMAZING addition to the right family, so stop into CARES or call about meeting Luna today!
Luna's adoption fee is $150. She is spayed, microchipped, flea treated, and up-to-date on her vaccinations.
