Cookie is a female chihuahua mix, about 10 years old and 10 pounds, who came to CARES as a stray. Now this scrappy little cutie is available for adoption!
Cookie is definitely very particular about the people she chooses to trust, and it can take her a good while to build up that trust. So she will need someone with plenty of patience and time to let her get comfortable and come out of her shell. But once she does come out of her shell and relax, she is just a total little snugglebug who gives the cutest little kisses, loves laps and belly rubs, and dances for treats!
Cookie does great on-leash, and absolutely loves her walks (she is VERY curious about the world around her, and will do her best to sniff every single bush and blade of grass she comes across!) She seems to be totally housebroken, and has done well with the other dogs she's met here, although she doesn't seem terribly fond of bigger or more high-energy dogs. She will definitely do best in a quiet, calm home, without a lot of commotion or visitors. Once she has let her guard down and chosen "her" people, she is very affectionate and protective, and doesn't want to leave their side.
Cookie will make a great addition to the right home, so stop into CARES or call about meeting Cookie today!
Cookie's adoption fee is $150, which includes her spay surgery, flea treatment, deworming, up-to-date shots, and microchip (with free registration).
