About the C.A.R.E.S. Volunteer Program
As a small community shelter, C.A.R.E.S. relies on our excellent and varied team of volunteers to help with day-to-day shelter operations, animal care, and special events. Their generous donations of time and energy help us take great care of our animals and facilities, and we truly couldn't do it without them!
Our volunteers run the gamut from high school kids to retirees--we accept court-ordered community service volunteers, high school students with senior class service requirements, and just ordinary citizens with a desire to help animals in need.
Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age. All volunteers are required to participate in an initial orientation/training session, as well as subsequent on-the-job training. Orientation sessions are held every Wednesday at 10am, and every Friday at 3pm.
If you are interested in becoming a C.A.R.E.S. volunteer, contact us to sign up for one of the orientation sessions: 206-812-2737. For further information/questions, you may also speak with our Volunteer Coordinator, Ramona, Mon. - Fri. 9am-5pm.
Thanks for your interest in being a C.A.R.E.S. volunteer!
