Sneakers is a female mix, possibly pit-shepherd, about 1 year old and 48 pounds, who was regrettably surrendered to our shelter after her owner suffered some health issues. Now this young sweetie is eager to find her new people!
Sneakers is very sweet and sociable, and seems to be totally housebroken. She rarely barks, and absolutely loves her walks and playtime. She's a total lovebug, and has also done very well with most of the dogs she's met here.
The family who recently fostered Sneakers for us had this to say: "She was such a joy. When she was first with us she only knew how to sit, but within two days she learned "down" and "shake". She is very motivated by treats, and very smart. She did well with other dogs on the hiking trails, but needs to work on her leash manners. When she sees another dog she pulls hard to say hi...Our friends brought their seven year old daughter over and they got along wonderfully...She is mostly mellow in the evenings, and loves a good hike or romp in the yard to burn off that young dog energy. She is full of love and kisses and never showed any aggression. She did bark at the door to alert us when people came through the gate, but otherwise hardly made a peep. What a great pooch!"
Sneakers is great young sweetheart of a dog who will make an awesome addition to just about any family, so stop into CARES or call about meeting her today!
Sneakers' adoption fee is $160, which includes her spay surgery, flea treatments, up-to-date shots, and microchip. Additionally, Burien residents will need to purchase a city pet license at the time of adoption ($20).
