Debo is a male pit/mastiff mix, about 13 years old and 70 lbs, who was surrendered to our shelter. He had been with the family his entire life, but they were forced to move and couldn't bring him with. Their loss is definitely his new family's gain--Debo is an AWESOME boy!
Debo seems to be in great shape for his age, based on vet exams, and recent bloodwork/UAs/X-Rays came back totally clear. He's very active, energetic, intelligent, alert, friendly, and all-around acts like a much younger dog. He knows many commands, including sit, stay, lay down, sit pretty, shake, etc.
Debo has done really well with most of the other big dogs he's met here (not as well with small dogs, though), but we recommend anyone interested in him who has another pooch set up a meet-and-greet ahead of time at our shelter.
Debo is a fantastic, goofy dog who loves people and just hanging out around the office with us, and will vocalize hilariously if he feels like he's being ignored (he sounds like a wookie!). He loves chasing balls/toys, loves his walks and does great on-leash, and definitely lets you know when he's done and wants to go back and curl up on the bed/couch. He is very housebroken, but does occasionally have accidents overnight, possibly partly due to age.
All in all, Debo is an amazing older doggie in great shape, with much love and fun still to give the right family, so stop into CARES or call about meeting him today!
Debo is neutered, been flea treated and dewormed, is up-to-dateon his shots, and is microchipped.
